Adrian, TX is tracking an active hail-producing storm on August 7, 2026, with peak hail reported at 2.3 inches. The storm is producing intermittent large hail and is continuing to develop across the metro.
The storm began producing radar-detected hail in the early evening and is still active. Dual-polarization radar detected 1.39-inch hail at 7:12 PM CDT, followed by 1.36-inch at 7:17 PM CDT and 1.15-inch at 7:29 PM CDT. The storm intensified with radar detection of 1.62-inch hail at 7:45 PM CDT and 1.85-inch hail at 8:13 PM CDT. Subsequent radar returns showed 1.6-inch hail at 8:25 PM CDT and 1.57-inch hail at 8:56 PM CDT. At 9:28 PM CDT the National Weather Service issued a warning-only report indicating 1.0-inch hail in parts of the warning area.
Alerts were issued across a multi-zone warning area covering Adrian and adjacent corridors. Radar-detected hail has tracked through the metro in a northeastward progression. Observations remain radar-derived for most alerts; one late report was issued as NWS warning only. Storm motion is producing intermittent bursts of larger hail embedded within smaller cores. Conditions may still be developing and the system is continuing to produce hail through the evening.
Radar-detected hail in the observed range, from roughly 1.0 inch up to just over 2 inches, is arriving across Adrian neighborhoods and commercial strips. Hail larger than 1 inch is capable of denting unprotected vehicles and causing localized shingle bruising on asphalt roofs. Hail exceeding 2 inches increases the likelihood of broken skylights, damaged rooftop equipment, and significant denting to metal fixtures.
Local exposures at risk include parked vehicles along major streets, exposed HVAC units on commercial roofs, and agricultural equipment in outlying parcels. No spotter-verified damage reports are included in this snapshot; observed impacts should be documented with time-stamped photos once conditions are safe.
