A hail-producing storm is tracking through Fort Hancock, Texas on August 7, 2026, with hail reaching 1.46 inches in diameter and the system remaining active. Multiple NWS alerts and radar detections are associated with the current storm.
The storm developed in the late afternoon and intensified into the early evening across Hudspeth County. Four NWS alerts were issued for the Fort Hancock area during the event:
Radar returns and the alert timing indicate the storm has produced hail across a multi-zone swath through the Fort Hancock notification area. Dual-polarization radar detections support measured hail in the earlier and later alerts. Two intermediate alerts were issued on NWS warnings without corresponding radar-derived hail signatures.
